St. Croix Brewing Co. Rebrands, Introducing New Logo and Website

New Brewery and ‘Public House’ Expected to Open Soon

Stillwater, Minn. (October 1, 2024) – As St. Croix Brewing Co. prepares to open the doors to its first taproom location, the company today announced an official rebranding. A refreshed logo, as well as website, welcomes in a new era for the brewery, whose roots date back to the 1850s in Stillwater and pays homage to its namesake, the St. Croix River.

New Brand and Website

Designed by Randy Mosher, an experienced beer and brewing professional who consults on all aspects of the brewery's creative output, the new St. Croix Brewing Co. logo features curves that nod to the water of the nearby river, as well as the area's storied and celebrated river boats.

“One of our core values at St. Croix Brewing Co. is to be a steward of history. From the beginning, we did that by resurrecting the St. Croix Beer brand itself, which dates back to the 1850s. Today we’re continuing that tradition in our work transforming Stillwater’s oldest standing building into our future taproom,” said Madeline Fyten, owner and general manager of St. Croix Brewing Co. “As we rebrand and update our website, we give a nod to our brand roots and the local history of river boats.”

The new logo and brand marks the third update during the modern lifetime of the company, with each logo prominently featuring the area’s hallmark steamboats.

Brewery’s First Taproom Expected to Open Soon

Historically a packaging microbrewery, St. Croix Brewing Co. will be opening its first taproom at 114 Chestnut St. in downtown Stillwater soon. The location, locally known as the “Brunswick House,” is a 176-year-old Greek Revival house with gardens, and is Stillwater’s oldest standing wood-framed building. Built in 1848, the same year Minnesota became a territory and a decade before statehood, the Brunswick House has had multiple uses.

It began its life as a lodgehouse for the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, a pioneering fraternal organization, and then became a family home for the Brunwicks. In the 20th century, it was reborn as the Harvest Inn, a local bed and breakfast operated by Stillwater’s famed chef and restaurateurs, Mark and Lydia Hansen. Most recently, the building operated as a coffee shop and bakery.

“We knew from day one that the Brunswick House is special. We’re proud to be carrying on its legacy. When guests visit us, they’ll find a home for camaraderie and craftsmanship; storytelling and community. That is why we are calling our taproom the St. Croix Public House,” added Fyten. “St. Croix Brewing Co. truly is where you will find History in a Pint.”
